GAME NOTES--SAMFORD AT VMI (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. -- The Samford men's basketball team will travel to Lexington, Va., to take on the VMI Keydets Saturday at 12 p.m. (CT) at Cameron Hall.
 
Samford and VMI have met 23 previous times, with Samford holding an 18-5 series lead. The teams met earlier this season, with Samford earning a 134-96 win at home. The 134 points were the most a Samford team has ever scored in a game.
 
Samford enters Saturday afternoon's game with a mark of 21-3 overall and 10-1 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs most recently played at UNC Greensboro Thursday evening, with the Bulldogs earning a 78-69 win. Samford has won 21 of its last 22 games.
 
Entering Saturday afternoon's game, Samford is led by junior Achor Achor, averaging 15.7 points and 6.0 rebounds per game, leading the team in both categories. Junior A.J. Staton-McCray is averaging 12.6 points and 5.0 rebounds per game. Rylan Jones leads the team in assists, dishing out 5.4 assists per contest. Jermaine Marshall averages 10.8 points per game for Samford.
 
The VMI Keydets enter Saturday's game with a mark of 4-20 overall and 1-10 in Southern Conference play. The Keydets most recently played host to Chattanooga Thursday night, falling by a score of 88-84.
 
VMI has been led so far this season by Brennan Watkins, averaging 15.2 points per game. Watkins also leads the team in assists, dishing out 3.0 per game. Tyran Cook is averaging 13.5 points per game for the Keydets. Koree Cotton averages 12.3 points per game, while Taeshaud Jackson leads the team in rebounding, grabbing 10.3 boards per contest.
