GAME NOTES--SAMFORD VS. THE CITADEL (PDF)

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's basketball team will wrap up the regular season by hosting The Citadel Bulldogs Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Pete Hanna Center. The game can be seen live on ESPN+.
 
Samford and The Citadel have met 30 previous times, with Samford owning a 17-13 series lead. Earlier this season, Samford earned an 80-64 win over The Citadel in Charleston, S.C. 
 
Samford enters Saturday's game with a mark of 25-5 overall and 14-3 in SoCon play. The Bulldogs most recently played at Wofford Wednesday, falling by a score of 91-69. Samford's 25 wins are the most wins in program history. Samford has already sewn up the SoCon regular-season title and the No. 1 seed for next week's SoCon Tournament.
 
Entering Saturday's game, Jaden Campbell has been hot lately. He delivered a career-high 28 points in Saturday's win over ETSU, and he averages 11.5 points per game. Jermaine Marshall averages 10.9 points and 4.6 rebounds per game. He recently passed the 1,000-career point mark and now has 1,017 points in his collegiate career. Rylan Jones leads the team in assists, dishing out 5.0 assists per contest.
 
Entering this week, the Bulldogs rank fourth in the nation in three-point percentage, making 39.8 percent of their attempts from beyond the arc. Samford also ranks in the top 10 in the nation in scoring offense (4th-86.7), fastbreak points per game (5th-16.23), steals per game (7th-10.4), bench points per game (5th-34.47), assists per game (6th-18.0), turnovers forced per game (6th-17.10) and winning percentage (T-8th-83.3).
 
Samford currently leads the Southern Conference in scoring (86.7 ppg.), scoring margin (+12.3), field goal percentage (.493), turnover margin (3.97), assists (17.97 pg.) and steals (10.37 pg.).
 
The Citadel Bulldogs enter Saturday's game with a mark of 11-19 overall and 3-14 in Southern Conference play. The Citadel most recently played host to ETSU Wednesday night, falling to the Bucs by a score of 81-63.
 
The Citadel has been led this season by A.J. Smith, averaging 16.4 points per game. Elijah Morgan is currently averaging 14.5 points per game. Madison Durr averages 11.5 points per game for The Citadel. Quintin Millora Brown averages 10.9 points and a team-high 9.2 rebounds per game.
