HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. – Samford freshman Gabi Nicastro sits in first place after the first two rounds of the Low Country Intercollegiate, held Friday and Saturday at Moss Creek Golf Club (Par 72, 6,009 yards).

Nicastro shot a two-under-par 70 in Saturday's second round to give her a two-round score of 147 (77-70). The score puts her in first place in the 90-player field. Nicastro is joined in the top 10 by Bailey Dunstan, who is tied for ninth at 152 (78-74).

"Gabi played well today, as did Bailey," Samford head coach Joe Davidson said. "We went off early and that helped with the wind, which with the small, hard green is what makes this course. Gabi will have a chance tomorrow if she plays well. We can also move up as a team as we are only three shots out of fourth place. It is going to be a fun day tomorrow."

As a team, Samford sits in ninth place with a team score of 626 (319-307). ETSU leads the event with a score of 602 (299-303).
