BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team remained unbeaten in Southern Conference play with a 5-2 win over Furman Sunday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.

With the win, Samford improved its season record to 10-4 overall and 3-0 in SoCon play. Furman fell to 7-9 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Samford won at the No. 1 and No. 2 doubles spots to pick up the first point of the match. At No. 1 doubles, Maxwell Giddens and Sandeep Mohandoss defeated Elijah Poritzky and Thomas Kennedy, 7-6. On the No., 2 doubles court, Santiago Arredondo and Maksim Bogdanovich defeated Emil Westling and Ben Cahill, 6-2.

In singles, Samford won at the No. 2, No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 spots to take the 5-2 win. At No. 2 singles, Mohandoss defeated Kennedy, 6-1, 6-3. At No. 4 singles, Bogdanovich earned a 6-4, 7-6 win over John Rado. On the No. 5 singles court, Arredondo defeated Walker Allen, 6-4, 6-4. At No. 6 singles, Will Gray defeated Connor Laymon, 6-3, 6-3.

Samford will next play at Chattanooga on Friday, March 22. The match is set for a 1 p.m. (CT) start from Chattanooga, Tenn.
