CHARLESTON, S.C. – The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision to Campbell Thursday in a match hosted by the College of Charleston.
With the loss, Samford fell to 3-8 on the season. Campbell improved its record to 8-4 with the win.
Samford earned its points in wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 singles positions. At No. 1 singles,
Alexis Lopez defeated Mialy Ranaivo, 2-6, 6-3, 6-3. On the No. 2 singles court,
Emily Surcey defeated Eeva Ristola, 7-5, 7-5.
Samford will next open Southern Conference play by hosting Mercer on March 15. The match is set for a 1:30 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
