Nicastro Places Third, Bulldogs Fifth At ULM Invitational

MONROE, La. – Freshman Gabi Nicastro placed third individually and Samford finished fifth as a team at the ULM Invitational, held Monday and Tuesday at the Bayou DeSiard Country Club.

Nicastro finished with a three-round total of 212 (69-73-70) to tie for third in the 78-player field with Amelia Guo of Sam Houston State. Edit Hertzman of LSU won the event with a final score of 209 (71-70-68).

Following Nicastro for Samford, Bailey Dunstan tied for 29^th with a score of 224 (76-70-78). Kelley Topiwala finished in a tie for 33^rd at 226 (74-77-75), while Christian Williams tied for 45^th at 228 (71-77-80) and Grace Engel finished in a tie for 48^th at 229 (76-77-76).

As a team, Samford fired a three-round total score of 886 (290-297-299) to place fifth in the 12-team field. Sam Houston State won the event with a final score of 860 (287-291-282).

Next up for Samford is the Southern Conference Championship, scheduled for April 14-16 in Hilton Head Island, S.C.
