Men’s Tennis Falls To Cross-Town Rival UAB, 4-2

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team fell to cross-town rival UAB, 4-2, Wednesday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.

With the loss, Samford fell to 11-7 overall. UAB improved to 10-10 with the win.

In doubles Samford claimed a 6-1 win by Maxwell Giddens and Sandeep Mohandoss over Parker Bradbary and Georgios Nouchakis on the No. 1 court. UAB, however, won on the No. 2 and No. 3 courts to take the doubles point.

In singles, on the No. 2 court, Mohandoss defeated Vojtech Podzemny, 7-5, 6-4. At No. 3 singles, Darcy Nicholls defeated Nouchakis, 6-1, 6-4. UAB, however, took wins at No. 4, No. 5 and No. 6 singles to clinch the 4-2 win. The match at No. 1 singles was not finished.

Samford will next play host to Wofford on Saturday, April 6. The match is set for a 1 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
