BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team earned an impressive 6-1 Southern Conference win over Wofford Saturday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
With the win, Samford improved its season record to 12-7 overall and 5-1 in Southern Conference play. Wofford fell to 7-10 overall and 2-4 in SoCon action.
 
Samford swept the three doubles matches to pick up the first point of the contest. At No. 1 doubles, Maxwell Giddens and Sandeep Mohandoss defeated Will Fullett and Robbie Young, 6-4. On the No. 2 doubles court, Maksim Bogdanovich and Santiago Arredondo earned a 6-0 win over Alex Horn and Hugo Rask. At No. 3 doubles, Darcy Nicholls and Yerrassyl Murat defeated Ashe Ray and Ian Rasheed, 6-2.
 
In singles, Samford won on the No. 1, No. 2, No. 3, No. 5 and No. 6 courts to take the 6-1 win. At No. 1 singles, Giddens defeated Max Graham, 6-2, 6-1. On the No. 2 singles court, Mohandoss earned a 6-1, 6-3 win over Young.
 
At No. 3 singles, Nicholls defeated Ray, 6-3, 6-2. On the No. 5 singles court, Arredondo defeated Fullett, 6-2, 6-4. At No. 6 singles, Sebastian Harrison defeated Horn, 6-2, 6-0.
 
Samford will close out its regular season by hosting Mercer on April 12. The match is set for a 2 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
