BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Samford University's athletics teams posted an impressive 97, one of the highest scores in the nation, in the NCAA's latest Graduation Success Rate (GSR) report, released Wednesday afternoon.
 
Samford had the highest score among state schools and the highest in the Southern Conference. Samford has led the SoCon in the GSR report for eight-straight years and for 10 of the last 11 years. Samford has also been the top school in Alabama in all but two years since GSR was started in 2004-05 and has led the state for the last 15 years.
 
Nationally, eight schools tied for first with a 99 (Columbia, Cornell, Harvard, Marquette, Northwestern, Notre Dame, San Francisco and Yale), eight schools tied with a 98 (Colgate, Davidson, Hofstra, Penn, Princeton, Richmond, Seton Hall and Villanova) and 22 schools tied with Samford at 97.

Samford competes in 17 NCAA Division I sports in the historic Southern Conference.
