BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team earned its eighth-straight win with a 6-1 victory over Presbyterian Saturday at the Samford Tennis Center.
 
With the win, Samford improved its season record to 8-2. Presbyterian fell to 3-5 with the loss.
 
In doubles, Samford won at No. 1 and No. 2 to secure the first point of the match. At No. 1 doubles, J.B. Pickard and Darcy Nicholls defeated David Mamalat and Evgenios Vasilakis, 6-2. On the No. 2 doubles court, Sandeep Mohandoss and Hayden Menon earned a 6-2 win over Pedro Cardoso and Daksh Prasad. The match at No. 3 doubles was not finished.
 
In singles, Samford won on the first five courts to secure the 6-1 win. At No. 1 singles, Mohandoss defeated Mamalat, 6-0, 6-0. On the No. 2 singles court, Nicholls earned a 6-3, 6-3 win over Cardoso.
 
At No. 3 singles, Menon defeated Vasilakis, 6-3, 6-2. On the No. 4 singles court, J.B. Pickard defeated Prasad, 6-4, 6-4. At No. 5 singles, Sebastian Harrison defeated Denim Yadav, 6-2, 6-1.
 
Next up, Samford will host Tennessee State on Saturday, Feb. 22. The match is set for a 1 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
