BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team extended its win streak to seven matches with a pair of 7-0 wins over Kennesaw State and Piedmont College Sunday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.
"These past nine days we have played five tough matches and have found ourselves on the right side of each one," Samford head coach
Oliver Reynolds said. "The team is playing with some confidence right now, and as our schedule slows down, we will refocus on how to improve on the practice court."
With the wins, Samford improved its record to 7-2. Kennesaw State fell to 3-2, while Piedmont is currently 1-2.
"Today's match against Kennesaw state was another tough battle," Reynolds said. "They have gotten us the last two years, so it was great to come out on the other side this time. Our doubles were strong today, and in singles we continue to compete at a high level everywhere. The team then followed up that match with another great performance against Piedmont College."
