Men’s Tennis Continues Hot Streak With 7-0 Win Over Chattanooga

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford men's tennis team earned its fifth-straight win with an impressive 7-0 victory over Chattanooga Friday afternoon at the Samford Tennis Center.

With the win, Samford improved its season record to 14-4 overall and 4-0 in Southern Conference play. Chattanooga fell to 10-8 overall and 1-1 in league play.

Samford swept the three doubles matches to take an early 1-0 lead.

The Bulldogs then swept the six singles matches, with five coming in straight sets, to close out the 7-0 win. At No. 1 singles, Sandeep Mohandoss defeated Jakub Jupa, 6-3, 6-2. On the No. 2 singles court, Darcy Nicholls earned a 3-6, 6-2, 6-3 win over Gabriel Castillo. At No. 3 singles, Hayden Menon defeated Cortland Grove, 6-2, 6-4.

On the No. 4 singles court, J.B. Pickard defeated Ryan Mudre, 6-3, 6-2. At No. 5 singles, Sebastian Harrison defeated Kristof Kincses, 6-3, 6-1. At No. 6 singles, Santiago Arredondo defeated Ethan Carr, 6-4, 6-3.

Next up, Samford will play host to UNC Greensboro on Saturday, Mar. 29. The match is set for a 12 p.m. start from the Samford Tennis Center.
