Box Score FLORENCE, Ala. – The Samford women's tennis team dropped a 5-2 decision at North Alabama Friday afternoon.
With the loss, Samford fell to 7-5 on the season. North Alabama improved its record to 7-2 with the win.
Samford won the doubles point with wins at the No. 2 and No. 3 positions. On the No. 2 doubles court,
Sara Erenda and
Grace Keller defeated Emma Ansorge and Mathilde Delaney, 6-4. At No. 3 doubles,
Eleni Liakonis and
Meredith Taylor earned a 6-4 win over Ada Karabacak and Senem Ocal.
In singles, Samford's Liakonis defeated Eeva Ristola, 6-4, 6-2 on the No. 3 court. The Lions, however, won on the other five singles courts to take the 5-2 win.
Next up, Samford will play at College of Charleston on Tuesday, March 11. The match is set for a 12:30 p.m. (CT) start.
