CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. – The Samford men's tennis team reached the finals of the Southern Conference Tournament for a second-straight season with a 4-0 win over Mercer in the semifinal round Friday at The Champions Club.
 
With the win, Samford improved its record to 18-5 and the Bulldogs will play Furman for the SoCon Tournament title on Saturday. Mercer ended its season with a mark of 12-8.
 
Samford took the doubles point winning matches at No. 2 and No. 3. At No. 2, Santiago Arredondo and Sandeep Mohandoss defeated Hod'Abalo Isak Padio and Amen Prince Gandonou, 6-2. At No. 3 doubles, Vitorio Sardinha and Sebastian Harrison defeated Howell Burns and E. Davila Gasser, 6-1.
 
In singles, Samford earned wins at No. 4, with J.B. Pickard defeating Tom Hagelauer, 6-2, 6-2, at No. 6, with Will Gray earning a 6-2, 6-1 win over Burns and No. 1 with Sandeep Mohandoss defeating Nemanja Setfanovic, 6-2, 6-4.
