BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford football program held its annual preseason Media Day and Media Punt, Pass, Kick competition Thursday at Pete Hanna Stadium and the Sullivan-Cooney Family Field House.

Jaden Mosley and
Alex Applefield all met with the media to preview the upcoming season. A full video of the interviews is embedded below.
Following the interviews, the media members competed in the annual Media Punt, Pass, Kick Competition. Each competitor had three tries at punting, passing and kicking in the first round, with the top two advancing to the finals. Jonathan Hoppe from Fox 6 and Damian Mitchell from JOX advanced to the finals.
In the finals, Mitchell earned the win, claiming his first punt, pass, kick victory. For his efforts, Mitchell received a
Chris Hatcher-signed Samford jersey.
Samford will open the 2025 season by playing host to West Georgia on Thursday, Aug. 28, at 6:30 p.m. at Pete Hanna Stadium. Fans can find season tickets at the following link:
