BIRMINGHAM, Ala.-Â The Samford men's tennis team earned a tightly contested 4-3 win over Troy on Saturday at the Samford Tennis Center. The Bulldogs improved their season record to 4-3 with the non-conference triumph at home.
Troy opened the day by securing the doubles point, winning the first two matches completed. The last doubles contest was halted with Samford in the lead, but the Trojans had already clinched the opening tally.
Samford responded in singles action with a series of determined performances. Sandeep Mohandoss delivered an important win in a three-set battle, while Sebastian Harrison provided a straight-sets victory. Lukas Dvorak also picked up a straight-sets singles win, and Cooper Errey capped the team effort with a three-set triumph that proved decisive. Troy took two singles matches of its own, but it was not enough to overtake the Bulldogs.
Samford will head on the road to take on Georgia Tech on Friday, Feb. 13th with first serve set for 3 p.m. in Atlanta, GA.
