Samford Earns Wins In 14 Events At Josh Reidinger Classic

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford track and field teams hosted the Josh Reidinger Classic Friday at Cameron Bean Track at Shauna Yelton Field.

Samford student-athletes earned the win in 14 different events, while a total of 35 Samford student-athletes finished in the top three of their respective events.

Bela Doss earned the win in the women's 3000-meter steeplechase with a time of 11:07.89. Felicity Hamilton finished first in the women's 1500-meter run, running the race in 4:33.19. Stephen Jones earned the win in the men's 1500-meter run with a time of 3:55.29.

Aaliyah Mbenda won both the women's 100-meter hurdles (13.44) and the women's 400-meter hurdles (1:01.81). Bradley Franklin also won two events, taking first place in both the men's 110-meter hurdles (13.28) and the men's 200-meter run (20.78).

Caleb Yeary won the men's 100-meter run with a time of 10.39. William Jordan won the men's 5000-meters, finishing the race in 14:54.34.

Kyle Kaufelds won the men's javelin throw, with a toss of 66.50 meters. Kyndall Brundidge won the women's triple jump at 12:28 meters. Benjamin Thomason earned the win in the men's long jump, with a leap of 7.14 meters.

Arthur Chitty finished first in the men's high jump with a jump of 2.12 meters. Samford also took home the win in the men's 4x100-meter relay with a time of 40.92 seconds.

Next up, Samford will compete in the Bulldog Relays at Mississippi State on Friday, May 1, in Starkville, Mississippi.
