BIRMINGHAM, Ala. –The kickoff time for Samford's football game at UAB on Oct. 3, has been set for 2:30 p.m. at Protective Stadium, UAB announced Friday.
 
The game will air live on ESPN+.
 
Samford and UAB have met just one previous time in football. The only previous meeting came on Oct. 31, 1992, when UAB was a Division III program. Samford won that earlier meeting by a score of 49-3 at Samford.
 
The 2026 season will mark the beginning of the John Grass era for Samford football. Grass was officially announced as Samford's 37^th head football coach on Dec. 4, 2025.
