Samford Football Hosts Media For PPK Competition

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford football program held its annual preseason Media Day and Media Punt, Pass, Kick competition Friday at Pete Hanna Stadium and the Sullivan-Cooney Family Field House.
Head coach John Grass spoke to the local media as the Bulldogs gear up towards the 2026 season. Samford players Domonique Thomas, Hank Weber, Jackson Bussey, John Scott III, Kaleb May, Kaleb Pearley, Noah Watts, and Spencer Conn were also available for questions.
Following the interviews, the media members competed in the annual Media Punt, Pass, Kick Competition. Each competitor had three tries at punting, passing, and kicking in the first round, with the top two advancing to the finals. Jonathan Hoppe from Fox 6 emerged as the winner.
Samford will open the 2026 season with a neutral-site game against North Alabama on Saturday, Aug. 29, at 6:00 p.m. in Huntsville, Ala. Fans can find season tickets at the following link: PURCHASE TICKETS.
