BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – The Samford football program held its annual preseason Media Day and Media Punt, Pass, Kick competition Friday at Pete Hanna Stadium and the Sullivan-Cooney Family Field House.

Following the interviews, the media members competed in the annual Media Punt, Pass, Kick Competition. Each competitor had three tries at punting, passing, and kicking in the first round, with the top two advancing to the finals. Jonathan Hoppe from Fox 6 emerged as the winner.
Samford will open the 2026 season with a neutral-site game against North Alabama on Saturday, Aug. 29, at 6:00 p.m. in Huntsville, Ala. Fans can find season tickets at the following link:
