2013 Spring All-Southern Conference Academic Team
Senior (2014-15): Played primarily in doubles for the Bulldogs and finished the dual-match season with a combined 6-5 record . . . competed at the No. 3 position with Savannah Wood and notched a 5-4 mark . . . also teamed with Iva Parapunova at No. 3 doubles and earned a 1-1 record, including a perfect 1-0 mark in Southern Conference play . . . earned her fourth varsity letter.
Junior (2013-14): Competed primarily in doubles play and finished the season with a 1-0 record . . . teamed with Lauren Caballero in doubles and earned a dominant 8-2 victory over Jacksonville State’s combination of Zoe Bizinos and Danielle Kerindi on Feb. 19 . . . concluded the 2013 fall season with an impressive 7-4 singles record . . . registered a third-place performance in the Melissa Minor singles bracket at the 26th Roberta Alison Fall Classic . . . garnered the Flight 8 singles championship at the 2013 Samford Fall Invite . . . opened the fall season in impressive fashion as she tallied back-to-back singles victories at the 12th Annual College of Charleston Invitational . . . earned her third varsity letter.
Sophomore (2012-13): Earned a spot in the Bulldogs’ singles lineup throughout the 2013 spring dual-match season . . . completed the spring with a 7-10 overall record, including a 2-2 mark when competing on court No. 5 . . . played the majority of her matches at No. 6 singles and finished 5-8 at the position . . . concluded SoCon play with a 4-5 singles record, including a perfect 2-0 mark in doubles action, while competing with teammate Emily Mallory . . . named to the Spring 2013 Academic All-SoCon team by registering an impressive 3.38 grade-point average . . . earned her second varsity letter.
Freshman (2011-12): Advanced to the semifinal round of the Singles B Draw at the USTA-ITA Southern Regional Championships by defeating both Samya ElHsissen of Troy, 6-2, 6-3, and Elaine Simon of UAB, 6-2, 7-5 . . . with a roster stock full of upperclassmen, she didn’t see much singles action in dual-match play, but finished the season with a perfect 1-0 record in doubles while competing with fellow true freshman Adri Lochner on court No. 3 . . . earned her first varsity letter.
High School: Earned the 2009 Most Improved Player Award in the state of Kentucky by the United States Tennis Association.
Personal: Born March 8, 1993 . . . parents are Rick and Teresa Lyon . . . her brother, Michael, played baseball at Palm Beach Atlantic . . . majoring in sports medicine and boasts a brilliant 3.47 grade-point average.
