2016 (Senior): Played in 59 games with 59 starts for the Bulldogs…tallied 82 total hits with 24 doubles, four triples and two home runs for a .392 batting average…drove in 35 RBIs and scored 46 runs…drew 10 walks and only struck out four times in 209 at-bats…was 11-for-12 on stolen bases…recorded 109 putouts with a pair of assists from the outfield for a 1.000 fielding percentage.
2015 (Junior): Competed in 55 games with 55 starts for the Bulldogs…set the single-season school record for hits with 86 total and led the team with a .437 batting average…tallied 17 extra base hits, 12 doubles, three triples and two home runs, and 25 multi-hit games on the season to go along with 10 games where he recorded three or more hits…had a 10-game hit streak during the season…had her best game at the plate of the season on March 28, at UNCG where she went 4 for 4 at the plate and accounted for two runs scored and four RBIs thanks to smashing her first two career home runs…drew 15 walks and struck out only nine times in a single-season reacord 197 at bats while also recording 10 stolen bases…accounted for 81 total putouts and four assists while only committing one fielding error for a .988 fielding percentage.
2014 (Sophomore): Played 56 games, starting 56…Played every game in center field and as the leadoff batter for the team…Recorded Samford single-season highs for stolen bases with 22 for 25, single-season record with 67 hits and tied a single-season record with 191 at bats…Posted a .351 batting average which ranks third in the single-season record book…Scored 35 runs which ranks second in the single-season record book…Recorded her first career-home run at North Carolina A&T on April 25, 2014…Tallied eight doubles, two triples, 12 walks and 27 RBI…One of only two Bulldogs to record a perfect fielding percentage…named to the 2014 All-SoCon First Team and the 2014 SoCon All-Tournament Team.
2013 (Freshman): Played in 51 games, starting 48 … started the season as the team’s designated player while recovering from offseason surgery before making her defensive debut in left field on March 9 at UNCG … earned SoCon All-Freshman Team honors with a .313 batting average and only four strikeouts over 67 at bats in conference play … finished the season with 39 hits in 157 at bats (.248) including four doubles, one triple and 17 runs scored as the team’s primary leadoff batter … had nine multi-hit performances, including three-hit performances against the College of Charleston (Apr. 6) and Furman (May 4) … tied for the team lead with a six-game hitting streak in late March … hit the first-ever triple at Samford Softball Field on April 20 versus Elon … was one of only two regular starters on the team to hold a perfect fielding percentage.
High School: Attended Fairhope High School … named the 2012 Press Register Player of the Year … three-time first team 6A All-State selection and four-time All-Region and All-County honoree … helped her team to a third-place finish at the 2011 state championships and was named to the All-Tournament team … Fairhope High School’s 2012 Female Athlete of the Year … helped her club team, Vipers Gen X, to a second-place finish at the 2011 18U “A” Nationals … also played basketball where she scored over 1,000 career points.
Personal: Born February 19, 1994 … daughter of Todd and Marcia Dowdy … has one sister, Rebecca … majoring in exercise science and physical therapy.
