What makes Samford so special for you?
My grandfather, Dr. Louis Edgar Armstrong---who served as the founding headmaster of nearby (and nationally renowned) Indian Springs School---knew Frank Samford, and he strongly encouraged me to consider attending Samford. I didn't think much of this request at the time he made it, but six years later, on my way to visit the University of Alabama, I made a wrong turn toward Birmingham, saw the exit sign for Samford University, and all of the sudden that memory resurfaced. I pulled off the interstate, drove to the campus, and almost instantaneously fell in love with Samford. The campus. The people. The intangible spirit. All of the things that make Samford such a special place. I cancelled my trip to Tuscaloosa, filled out an application, and the rest is history. One of the things that sets Samford apart from other universities is that it invests heavily in the formation of its students. At Samford, you'll not only receive a world-class education, but also have the unique opportunity to do so at a university where faith and reason are not at odds. I am thankful every day that I had the good fortune to attend a university that emphasized character and faith just as much as intellectual development. And most important, I met my lovely bride at Samford.

What makes you proud to be a Samford Bulldog Club member?
Samford is blessed to have a first-class athletic department and incredible student-athletes year after year. These folks do an amazing job of representing our university, and I am honored to support their efforts in and out of the classroom.

Anything you'd like your fellow Bulldog Club Members to know about you?
I am currently serving as the president of the Samford Alumni Association. I am honored to do so.
