John and Marsha Floyd
- Reside in Mount Laurel, Alabama
- Have 2 sons, Harrison, who graduated from TCU and Hampton, who is a senior at Samford.
- Have a toy miniature schnauzer, Aayla. She is a diva indeed.
Tell us about your professional work and what you enjoy most about your job.
John is a Senior Attorney at Vulcan Materials Company. The thing he likes most about my job is that each day is different and he learns something new each day.
What are some of your hobbies?
I enjoy relaxing and spending time with my wife. I also read a great deal.
What special talents or gifts do you have?
Music. I have been singing solos and in choirs since the second grade.
What makes Samford so special for you?
We are a very dedicated Samford family. Between my family and Marsha's family, we in total have had 10 people in our families attend Samford. It is a very special and unique place that is rare in our country today.
What inspired you to first get involved in supporting the student-athlete experience at Samford?
Athletics is part of the overall college experience. It is a tough road to hoe being a college athlete and they deserve our support. Like all things Samford - they deserve the best.
What makes you proud to be a Samford Bulldog Club member?
Samford athletics, like Samford itself, is distinctive. We have a quality athletic program that makes us all proud in both the classroom and the in the field of play.
