FB Stadium Rendering 8/20A Message from Samford's Deputy Director of Athletics for Development & Corporate Affairs, Bo Kerr

Dear Bulldog Club donors,

As demonstrated by our success in both the classroom and in competition, Samford Athletics is committed to recruiting, retaining and developing the very best student-athletes.  Our goal is to graduate young men and women who are prepared for success and ready to make a difference.  One of the resources required to attract the best of the best is first class facilities.

I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with an update on our Seibert Stadium renovation project.  In the spring of 2019, this fundraising effort began with a three phase plan that allows for improvements to be made as funds for each phase are raised.  Planned improvements are focused on fiscal responsibility and enhancing the overall game day experience for student-athletes and fans.

Phase I, which included a new video board and audio system, was completed last fall and came in under budget at a cost of $1,750,000- 100% of which was donor funded!  Today, our fundraising efforts continue as we have raised $1,039,208 toward a Phase II goal of $7,000,000. Phase II focuses on the west side of the stadium and will include a new seating configuration as well as the renovation and expansion of the Bashinsky Press Tower.  Phase II improvements will include additional chair back seating, new restrooms and concessions stands, a permanent hospitality space and will bring the seating area much closer to the playing field. Our goal is to raise the funds needed for Phase II by December of 2021 so that work can be completed in time for the 2022 fall season.  To date, we have raised 15% of the funds needed to begin Phase II.

Thanks to the generosity of more than 90 individuals and businesses, we have received $2,789,848 in total gifts and commitments towards an overall goal of $11,000,000 for this project. We are very proud of the progress we have made toward securing 100% of the funds required to see this project to the finish line. But, there is much work to be done.

If you are interested in learning more about this exciting project, please contact me at 205-726-2139 or jkerr@samford.edu. The loyal support of the Samford community is greatly appreciated and a testament to the progress we’ve made.  On behalf of Samford Athletics and our outstanding student-athletes, thank you for your continued support.

Go Bulldogs!
