Previous College: Spent three years at the University of Pennsylvania.

High School: Was a three-year letterwinner at Lake Oswego High School in Oregon . . . served as team captain as a senior . . . helped lead Lake Oswego to a top 25 national ranking and the 6A state championship with a 14-0 record . . . named second-team All-League in 2011 . . .  named All-State by The Oregonian in 2011 . . . was also a two-year letterwinner in basketball.

Personal: Born Aug. 10, 1993 . . . son of Gwen and Mark Matthews . . . majoring in economics.
