Cally Chizik enters his first season on the Samford football staff as the safeties coach.
Chizik comes to Samford after spending the 2025 season as a graduate assistant at Missouri. While with the Tigers, Chizik broke down opponent film and data analytics, constructed all defensive unit meetings and DB position meetings and analyzed and broke down opponent wide receiver tendencies. He helped the Missouri defense rank 10th in the nation and second in the SEC.
Prior to his time at Missouri, Chizik started his coaching career as a defensive assistant at Furman in 2024. At Furman, he was responsible for breaking down opponent film and data analytics, running installation meetings for nickels and corners and running and assisting scout team organization and execution.
Chizik played football at Furman from 2019 to 2022. He was named All-SoCon and Walter Camp FCS All-American while leading the Paladins to a SoCon title.
He earned his B.A. degree in journalism and media studies from Furman in 2023.
