Jaylen Swain enters his first season as an assistant football coach at Samford.

Swain spent last season at West Virginia as the teams Defensive Ends Assistant. He has also been the Linebackers Coach at Gulf Shores High School.

An Alabama native, Swain spent his playing career at Jacksonville State, where he was a member of the football team from 2020-24.  He was a team captain in 2024, and finished his career with178 tackles, 17.5 sacks, and 40 TFL. He was named Freshman All-American and All-CUSA.
