Logan Self enters his first season on the Samford football staff as an analyst
Self comes to Samford after spending the 2024 and 2025 seasons as a graduate assistant for the offensive line at Tulane. While at Tulane, he was responsible for, among other things, opponent breakdown, running the defensive scout team, assisting in game planning the run game, opponent defensive line analysis, charting throughout games, use of iPad with players on sideline, off-season self scout, off-season projects and running drills at camp.
In his two seasons at Tulane, the team went a combined 20-5, winning an AAC title and reaching the College Football Playoff.
Prior to his time at Tulane, Self spent the 2022 and 2023 seasons as an offensive line assistant at Troy. While with the Trojans, Self was responsible for opponent breakdowns, running additional meetings (protection/run game), sideline signaling (creation and execution), creating hand outs and packets for the players, leading voluntary meetings for the players for game preparation, running drills at camp and running drills during individual periods.
The 2023 Troy team went 10-2, winning a Sun Belt Conference championship and playing in the Birmingham Bowl. The 2022 team earned a spot in the Cure Bowl.
Self earned his B.S. degree in sport management from Troy and he is currently working on his M.S. degree in sports studies from Tulane.
