2015 SoCon Men’s Cross Country Champion
Junior (2016) - Competed in five meets for the Bulldogs...ran a personal best, 23:36:69 in the 8k at the Southern Conference Championships and placed 3rd overall, earning All-Socon First Team honors...ran a personal best, 30:24.60, in the 10k at the NCAA South Regionals and placed 4th overall...placed 57th overall in the 10k at the NCAA Cross Country Championships with a time of 30:24.90.
Sophomore (2015) – Competed in six meets for the Bulldogs…tallied five races where he posted Top-5 finishes…ran a 15:42.20 in the 5k at the Samford Tri-Meet on Sept. 1…recorded his first career SoCon Cross Country Individual Championship with his personal record time of 24:10.20 in the 8k event…also posted a personal record time of 30:33.50 in the 10k at the NCAA South Regionals where he finish 2nd overall…became the first Samford male cross country runner to compete at the NCAA National Championships…placed 164th overall with a time of 31:32.80 in the 10k race.
Freshman (2014) – Competed in five meets for the Bulldogs under head coach Lori Strand…won his first collegiate race on Sept. 25, at the Charlotte Invitational 8k with a time of 25:02.50…ran a season best time in the 8k at the SoCon Championships with a 13th place finish time of 24:53.43…ran a 30:53.60 in the 10k at the NCAA South Regionals on Nov. 14, where he placed 14th overall.
High School: Prepped at Lycée Sévigné…2014 Under 23 French champion in the 5,000 meters…2013 under 20 second place finish in the 5,000 meters…holds personal bests in the 1,500 meters (3:55.00), 5,000 meters (14:45.00) and the 10,000 meters (30:52.00)…also a standout in the swimming pool as he was the under 16 regional champion in the 50/100/200 meter backstroke.
Personal: Full name is Arsène Guillorel…born on January 18, 1994…son of Arnaud and Anne Guillorell…has one sister, Alix…majoring in Interior Architecture.
