Erin Landsburg enters the 2005 softball season as a first-year student assistant coach for the Bulldogs. The native of Tucson, Ariz., spent four years as a member of Samford's softball team and graduated in 2004 with a degree in interior design.
During her time as one of the Bulldogs' top starting pitchers, Landsburg was one of the team's tri-captains in 2004 and finished the season with 12 wins. She finished her illustrious four-year career as one of only two players in Samford history to record both 40 career wins and 400 career strikeouts.
Landsburg currently holds the fourth-lowest earned run average in school history and proved to be a menace at the plate as well. She was a self-taught left-handed hitter and finished fourth on the team in batting average last season (.272), her first season as a batter.
Landsburg, one of the undeniable leaders on last year's team, will be a welcome addition to the coaching staff and will prove to be helpful in guiding both the pitchers and hitters. She was named to the Atlantic Sun Conference All-Freshman Team in 2001.
