Michelle Moultrie

Michelle Moultrie enters her third season as assistant coach with Samford and holds the primary responsibilities of working with the Bulldog outfielders and first basemen. Moultrie will also assist with implementing the offensive strategy on game days.

In 2016, Moultrie helped the Bulldogs offense to reach new heights on the way to securing the program's first ever SoCon Regular Season Championship and SoCon Tournament Championship. Samford ranked nationally in batting average (32nd - .316), doubles per game (17th - 1.60), home runs per game (39th - 0.98), scoring (45th - 5.62), slugging % (27th - 0.498) and triples per game (40th - 0.23).

Moultrie brings a wealth of knowledge to the program from an extensive playing career that reaches all the way to the national stage with Team USA Softball.

The Jacksonville, Fla. native began her career at the University of Florida where she saw great success both in the field and at the plate for the Gators. A four-year letter winner for UF received numerous accolades during her career.

In her freshman campaign she made her way on to the 2009 SEC All-Freshman team while also making the SEC Freshman Academic Honor Roll. While she picked up a 2010 All-SEC Second Team selection and made the SEC Academic Honor Roll in her sophomore year.

Moultrie led the Gators to a 2011 NCAA WCWS National Championship in her junior year. In four games at the WCWS Moultrie belted four home runs and picked up 2011 Co-Most Outstanding Player at the NCAA WCWS honors. She also was awarded 2011 NFCA Third Team All-American, Capital One Academic Third Team All-American, All-Southeast Region Second Team and All-SEC Second Team accolades.

Moultrie wrapped up her collegiate career as the 2012 SEC Player of the Year, NFCA First Team All-American, First Team All-SEC, SEC All-Defensive Team and a Top Ten Finalist for the USA Softball Collegiate Player of the Year.

The talented outfielder continues to play with the Team USA National squad.
