Former Purdue standout Lisa Pierce in her third year as an assistant coach with the Samford volleyball program.
Pierce came to Samford after serving as a student assistant for the Purdue University volleyball team. She was the recipient of the "Coaches for Coaches" Scholarship and attended the AVCA Coaches' Convention. As a student assistant, Pierce instructed players on and off the court in all volleyball skills and team building. She also served as a head coach for the Lafayette Volleyball Academy Club from December 2009 to May 2010, and was a camp coach for Purdue Volleyball summer camps. Pierce played four years for the Boilermakers at outside and right side hitter. She helped her team to NCAA tournament appearances in 2006, 2007, 2008 and 2010.
Pierce received a Bachelor of Science in retail management from Purdue along with a minor in communications with an emphasis in organizational leadership and supervision in December 2010.
