Kyya Smith is in her first year at Samford after spending two years at SalterMitchell PR in Tallahassee, Florida. Smith originally came to Lakeshore in August of 2023 as a Marketing and Fan engagement graduate assistant before being promoted to Marketing and Communications Coordinator in January 2024.
In her current role with the Bulldogs, Smith aids with all marketing campaigns and game day promotional efforts while strategizing social media efforts for multiple Samford programs.
Smith began her time at SalterMitchell PR as a PR & Marketing Assistant in May 2021 before being bumped up to Account Coordinator in January 2022. While with the firm, Smith created data-led reports for clients and manufactured pitches to local and statewide media outlets.
Prior to SalterMitchell PR, Smith spent the spring of 2021 with Franklin Media Productions as an Associate Producer of “Respectfully Justin” which aired on YouTube and Revolt TV.
During her junior year at FAMU, Smith interned with the Florida High School Athletic Association. She contributed to the daily duties in marketing, public relations and member management.
The Orlando, Florida native graduated Summa Cum Laude from Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University with a Bachelor of Science in Public Relations. Smith is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Sorority Inc.
Smith lives in Birmingham with her family and mini double-doddle Kobe B. Smith.
