Cody Jackson is in his seventh year in Compliance at Samford University, and in his ninth overall in collegiate athletics. He currently serves as the department Assistant Director of Athletics for Compliance.
He is responsible for all day-to-day activities of the compliance office. Since beginning as a Compliance Coordinator in 2013, his responsibilities have grown to include providing interpretations and education to boosters, fans, coaches, staff, and university personnel, writing all necessary NCAA waivers, and monitoring all areas to maintain a comprehensive compliance program that adheres to all NCAA and Southern Conference rules.
In 2016, Jackson returned to Birmingham as Director of Compliance after a one-year stint as Compliance Coordinator at Middle Tennessee.
Jackson was promoted to his current position as Assistant AD for Compliance in 2019, while also becoming sport oversight for the Women’s Tennis program.
Prior to his time at Samford, Jackson was a graduate intern at the University of Alabama, where he received his Master’s degree in Sports Management. Cody attended Middle Tennessee State University for his undergraduate studies, graduating in 2012 with a Bachelor’s degree in History.
He is a member of NAAC, the Southern Conference SAAC Executive Committee, the Samford Values Council and is a co-advisor for SAAC on Samford’s campus.
Originally from Nashville, Tennessee, Jackson lives in Birmingham with his wife Mary Katherine (MK), a graduate of Samford.
