Box Score

STARKVILLE, Miss. - The Samford volleyball team dropped its third straight match at Mississippi State Wednesday night.

Samford used a strong serving attack to stay in the match but Mississippi State proved to be too much in the end.

Mississippi State jumped out to a 13-0 lead in game one before Krista Kettering rallied off four service aces to get SU on the scoreboard. The Bulldogs scored six of its eight points in game one on service aces.

MSU dominated the second game 15-3 but SU battled back in game three. Samford took a 4-1 lead before MSU went on a run to take a 13-8 advantage. Samford fought back behind the hitting of Ashley Fulton who had six of her team-high eight kills in the final game.

In the end, however, MSU pulled out the final game 16-14 to improve to 12-2 on the season. Samford drops to under .500 for the first time this season at 8-9.

Samford will return to action on Tuesday night when it hosts Auburn at 7 p.m. in Seibert Hall.
