MURRAY, Ky. - Freshman Kelly Villareal shot 82 on Tuesday and finished 18th as the Bulldogs finished sixth of 11 teams at the Murray State Lady Racer Classic.

The Top 20 finish is Villareal's second in as many tries, as she finished with a final score of 164 (82-82). Arkansas State's Shellie Wenzel claimed the individual title with a two-round total of 151 (76-75). Also for the Bulldogs, Tara Clayton finished 21st with a 166 (83-83), followed by Tricia Harlow (87-84=171) in 32nd, Sara Gossum (83-92=175) and Courtney Sanders (86-90=176) in 41st.

"As a team our performance was a bit disappointing today," said Head Coach Ian Thompson. "We lost some strokes on the green just couldn't seem to get things going well enough to improve."

Arkansas State also claimed the team title, posting a 624 and winning by 10 strokes over host Murray State (634). Eastern Illinois's 650 placed them third, followed by Austin Peay State (654) and Birmingham-Southern (664) in the Top 5. Samford (673), Western Kentucky (674), Lipscomb (680), Rhodes College (701), Murray State Gold (716) and John A. Logan (719) rounded out the tournament field.
