BIRMINGHAM, Ala - Samford women's golf head coach Ian Thompson announced the signing of Brooke Barriento for the 2004-05 season. Barriento is from McCordsville, Indiana and went to high school at Hamilton Southeastern High School.

"I feel like Brooke will be a solid addition to our team next year," Thompson said. "She was really impressed by Samford University and her future teammates. Her resume speaks for itself and I have no doubt she will make a positive impact next year."

Barriento led Hamilton Southeastern to the Indiana State Championships this season as well as notching two top ten finishes on the American Junior Golf Association Tour. Barriento also won the individual championship at the Aquafina Masters Tour championship at Brier Ridge and was named NHSCA-High School All American in 2002.
