The Samford men's golf team currently holds a one-stroke lead after the first two rounds of the Harris Fall Classic, hosted by Southeast Missouri State at Bent Creek Golf Course on Monday. The Bulldogs shot a 583 (294-289) on day one of the tournament.
"I thought we played well," head coach Woodie Eubanks said. "I thought the guys stepped up, and overall, I am impressed with our play for the first day."
Samford was led by senior Andy McRae, who shot a six-under par 138 (68-70), just two strokes back of the individual lead. Sophomore Ryan Mayberry and junior Bradley Farmer each shot four-over par 148. Mayberry fired rounds of 74 and 74, while Farmer shot 75 and 73 in his first two rounds. Freshman Reed Davis was one stroke back of Mayberry and Farmer with a 149 (77-72). Freshman Clint Calvert shot a 79 in round one, but had to withdraw from round two due to injury.
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday, with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m.
