Women's Tennis Downs Jacksonville State, 6-1

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford women's tennis team defeated Jacksonville State, 6-1 at the BSC Fall Classic on Saturday at the Birmingham-Southern Tennis Complex.

"This is huge," said head coach Terri Sisk. "This team dominated and I am extremely proud of them. We played fantastic today and it is going to feel good going into next week's home matches."

In doubles, Samford won all three matches with Emily White and Sarah McKey finishing 8-3, Katie McMiller and Katie Crawford scoring 8-2 and Bethany Benson and Amber Dyar posting 8-5.

In singles, Samford won five out of six matches with White scoring 8-6, McKey finishing 8-3, McMiller posting 9-8, Dyar recording 8-5 and Benson finishing 8-1.

The Bulldogs will host the Samford Bulldog Tournament on Friday-Saturday, Oct. 8-10 at the Samford Tennis Complex in Birmingham, Ala.
