BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford University volleyball team (4-14, 2-6 OVC) will play host to the Tennessee Tech Golden Eagles (5-13, 1-6 OVC) on Friday, Oct. 22, and then battling the Austin Peay Lady Govs (8-12, 4-4 OVC) on Saturday, Oct. 23. Friday's match will begin at 7 p.m., while Saturday's competition is set for a 2 p.m. start.
A LITTLE HISTORY... The Bulldogs have won only one out of five games against both teams each. Last season, Samford played both teams twice and finished with a split. The Golden Eagles fell to the Bulldogs, 3-0 at Seibert Hall, while Tennessee Tech downed Samford in Cookeville, Tenn., 3-1.The Bulldogs won against the Lady Govs, 3-2 in Clarksville, Tenn., before losing in a home match, 3-0.
As of Oct. 19 in OVC volleyball standings, Samford is currently ninth, while Austin Peay is sixth and Tennessee Tech is eighth out of 11 teams.
RECAPPING BULLDOGS LAST MATCH... The Bulldogs fell to Mercer, 3-0 in a non-conference home match on Tuesday night (Oct. 19) at Seibert Hall in Birmingham, Ala. Match scores were as follows: 32-30, 32-30, 30-16.
