BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford University football team practiced for 45 minutes at Seibert Stadium Monday night. The Bulldogs worked on corrections from last Saturday's game against Eastern Kentucky.

"We looked at the film from Saturday night's game and saw a lot of good thing," Samford head coach Bill Gray said. "But we can look at the film and see we made mistakes that are critical in any ball game, but there were a lot of positives. We are six points away from being 2-0 in the conference.

"We played hard for eight quarters, plus six overtime periods in the last two games," Gray said. "Right now, we are wondering what we have to do to get it done, and the way we find the answers is to work here on the practice field and to go up to Murray and give it our best shot.

"I thought we had a terrific Monday for a team that is coming off a couple of losses like we have had," Gray said. "They are very resilient, but they know we can play better football."

Samford will practice again on Tuesday, with the workout beginning at 3:45 p.m. at the practice fields on the Samford campus.

Samford and Murray State are scheduled to kickoff at 3:00 p.m. Saturday afternoon in Murray, Ky. The game can be heard locally on WVSU-FM 91.1, or worldwide on the internet at www.samfordsports.com. The game will also be televised on a tape-delay basis by ACN Sports. The broadcast can be seen on WOTM-TV in Birmingham at 3:00 p.m. Sunday and at 10:30 p.m. Monday.
