HATTIESBURG, Miss. -
The Samford University men's golf team is in 10th place out of 12 teams after the first two rounds of the Sam Hall Classic on Monday. The Bulldogs finished the first two rounds with a team score of 597 (302-295). Southern Mississippi leads the tournament, while Stephen F. Austin is currently in second.
"We were disappointed in our scores from the first round," Samford head coach Woodie Eubanks said. "We haven't played a full round of golf since November because of the weather. If we can play the way we are capable of tomorrow, we can climb back up the leader board."
Samford was led by Bradley Farmer with a two-round total of 148 (76-72). Reed Davis fired a 149 (78-71), while Bradley Pate finished the first two rounds with a score of 151 (77-74). Andy McRae shot a 155 (77-78) and Ryan Mayberry finished the day with a 159 (72-87).
The tournament will conclude on Tuesday. The final round will begin with a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m.
