Samford men's tennis defeated Wallace State 7-0 Wednesday afternoon at the Darwin C. Hardison Tennis Center. Samford (2-2)doubles dominated once again winning all three matches, paced by a 8-0 victory from Stuart Misner and Joey Jensen.
"This win should give us some momentum heading into the road trip that we have coming up," Head coach Kemper Baker said. "Our doubles continued to look good, we still need to work on closing out singles matches."
Manuel Miletic won #1 singles 6-2, 6-4 and James Bryce won the most exciting match of the day rallying after losing the first set to win 5-7, 7-6, 11-9. Misner had no problem winning 6-2, 6-0 as did Rob Nunnery 6-2, 6-2 and Johnny Griffee 6-1, 6-0. In #6 singles Bradley Weaver hung on to win 6-1, 7-5.
The Bulldogs travel to Hammond, La. for a match against Southeastern Louisiana on Friday, February 20. The match begins at 2:00 p.m.
