Men's Golf Finishes Sixth at Samford Intercollegiate

SYLACAUGA, Ala. - Samford men's golf finished sixth at the Samford Intercollegiate at FarmLinks at Pursell Farms. The Bulldogs shot a final round 294, led by freshman Bradley Pate's 71. Samford finished the three round event 300-158-294, Tennessee State won the team competition with a 293-145-280-718.

"It was a great competition and great event," Head coach Woodie Eubanks said. "The course played a lot better today and overall it was a good tournament. We played better today, but we still need to work on finishing out rounds."

Pate finished tied for 16th for the tournament recording the Bulldogs only round under par. Bradley Farmer finished tied for 23rd after a third round 77 and a three round total of 189. Ryan Mayberry finished tied for 30th with a 74-40-78-191, Andy McRae finished tied for 33rd with a 75-44-73-192 and Reed Davis fired a third round 73 and finished tied for 38th, 80-42-73-195.

Clint Calvert won the competition among the individuals with an 83-37-74--194, Taylor Doner also competed as an individual and shot a 83-37-82--202.

The Bulldogs will have a month off before traveling to Jacksonville, Ala. for the Jacksonville State Intercollegiate on March 22-23.
