BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - For the second-consecutive match, the Samford men's tennis team shutout their opponent, this time Ohio Valley Conference rival Tennessee-Martin was on the losing end of the 7-0 match. The Bulldogs (7-4, 2-1 OVC) won two-of-three doubles matches and swept all six singles matches en route to the victory over the Skyhawks (2-4, 0-1).

"Once again I thought this was going to be a close match going in," Head coach Kemper Baker said. "What can I say, besides they are playing high caliber tennis right now. At points in the season we didn't know who to look for to give us victories and now everybody is stepping up."

Samford started the match winning the doubles point courtesy of a 9-8 (7-5) win by Manuel Miletic and Bradley Weaver on court three. James Bryce and Johnny Griffee had already secured a 9-7 victory on court one for the Bulldogs.

The Bulldogs dominated singles, winning four of the six matches in straight sets. Miletic had no difficulty on court one, winning 6-3, 6-3. Bryce won his second straight match at No. 2, coming from behind with a solid, 1-6, 6-0, 6-3, win. Freshman Stuart Misner improved to 6-2 on the season at No. 3 with a 6-1, 6-0 victory. The Bulldogs two other freshman, Rob Nunnery and Bradley Weaver, also made easy work on court four and six, respectively. Johnny Griffee upped his season record to 10-2 with a thrilling 4-6, 6-4, 10-4 victory on court five.

The Bulldogs travel to South Carolina tomorrow to take on Furman. The Saturday afternoon match begins at 2:30 p.m. Samford will not have another home match until April 13, when they host North Alabama.
