Men's Tennis Knocks off Tennessee State 7-0

NASHVILLE, Tenn. - The Samford men's tennis team won 66 of 76 games in a 7-0 Ohio Valley Conference victory over Tennessee State. The Bulldogs (8-7, 3-2 OVC) dominated the Tigers from top to bottom Saturday afternoon in Nashville, Tenn.

"This was a great win for us," Head coach Kemper Baker said. "It is nice to get some confidence back after the past couple of matches. We are looking forward to a competitive match tomorrow afternoon against Eastern Kentucky. We are in the middle of a tough stretch in the schedule and must remain focused."

James Bryce and Johnny Griffee handled business on court one in doubles winning 8-2. While on court two, Charlie Matter and Joey Jensen had not difficulty winning 8-1.

In singles the Bulldogs continued to dominate. Manuel Miletic won on court one, 6-2, 6-4, and James Bryce won 6-0, 6-1 on court two. Stuart Misner, Rob Nunnery and Bradley Weaver all won 6-0, 6-0 on courts three, four and five, respectively.

The Bulldogs will take on Eastern Kentucky tomorrow in Cookeville, Tenn. beginning at 11:00 a.m.
