Baseball Plays Series At Eastern Kentucky

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. - The Samford baseball team will play a three-game Ohio Valley Conference series at Eastern Kentucky this weekend.

Samford enters the weekend with a record of 7-26 overall and 1-11 in the OVC. The Bulldogs are coming off a 10-5 victory over Alabama on Wednesday. EKU is currently 25-6 overall and 8-4 in conference play. Earlier this week, EKU defeated Xavier by a score of 19-4.

Samford is led at the plate by Matt Alling, batting .380 (49-for-129). He also leads the team in RBI (32), hits (49) and triples (4). Stephen Artz and Joseph Edens have been the leaders of the pitching staff. Artz is 2-5 with a 4.92 ERA and a team-high 61 strike outs. Edens has a record of 2-5 and an ERA of 4.88.

The teams will play a doubleheader on Saturday at 1:00 p.m. Eastern Time, and then will play a single game on Sunday also at 1:00 p.m.
