MURRAY, Ky. -
The Samford men's tennis team defeated Murray State 5-2, Friday afternoon in Murray, Ky. The Bulldogs (10-8, 5-3 OVC) won five-of-six singles matches against the Racers after falling behind early 1-0.
"I am proud of the way they rebounded well after falling behind early," Head coach Kemper Baker said. "It was a nice win over the conference runner-up and to get back on track in the conference race."
The Bulldogs fell behind 1-0 after dropping the doubles point. Manuel Miletic and Bradley Weaver won the only doubles match for the Bulldogs on court two, 8-5.
In singles, Miletic won on court one, 6-2, 6-4. On court three, Stuart Misner won easily 6-1, 6-1. Weaver had no problems on court four winning 6-0, 7-5, Rob Nunnery won on court five 6-4, 7-6 and Johnny Griffee won 6-2, 6-4 on court six.
The Bulldogs take on Eastern Illinois tomorrow morning at 10:00 a.m. in Murray, Ky.
