TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The Samford University women's golf team competed Monday (Sept. 20) at the Ann Rhodes/ Alabama Intercollegiate. The University of Alabama is the hosting school, while the tournament is held at the Ol' Colony Country Club. The Bulldogs finished day one in 13th place with a score of 340, while Tulane University leads with a score of 298.
"We struggled today," said head coach Ian Thompson. "Due to weather conditions we finished under what I expected. Our freshmen performed well and hopefully tomorrow we can step it up and do better than what we did today."
Brooke Barriento was Samford's top finishers with a shot of 81, while Kelly Stout fired a 84 and Tricia Harlow shot a 86.
